Boarding or residential schools is a personal choice and an important decision made by parents. Though some argue that boarding schools are good for a child’s development, others argue that it can be certainly avoided.

The advantages of boarding schools are:

A boarding school definitely makes a child self-reliant and independent. As the child learns to live in an environment far from relatives and family, the child learns to find a solution to all the problems and becomes independent and by staying with other fellow students belonging to different cultures, religions, castes and countries, a child becomes adjustable and learns to adapt with everybody.

There will a close bonding with other fellow students and teachers who stay on the campus. A boarding school is normally situated in places conducive to learning and away from residential places. Students and teachers are the only members, a child interacts with. Along with basic education, social education is an integral development in a child.

Boarding schools have lots of extra-curricular activities for every student. This is very crucial for overall development and vested interests in music, dance or sports can be a good alternative career, if pursued seriously. There is no question of sharing domestic responsibilities; a child devotes all the time in studies and other extra-curricular activities.
Those children who have attended boarding schools are known for their tough mental and emotional character. They grow into matured adults and know how to face and survive in this world. The differences are easily noticeable in the child.
